Elite Ballet School offers competitive classical training programs for children, teens and adults, designed to develop a thorough foundation and rigorous techniques of the art of ballet using the Vaganova method. Within the nurturing and creative environment of this school, comprehensive sessions, group and private, are coordinated to each of the student’s unique talent, while allowing them to build a strong and balanced body and gain the necessary confidence and self-discipline to reach their highest potential as ballet dancers. Private sessions are also offered to students who desire to participate in award competitions, auditions, and performance opportunities, preparing them with interesting and age-appropriate classical variation and original contemporary solos.
Edlira Athanas Joseph is a former principal ballet dancer of the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Albania. She was classically trained at the National Conservatory of Tirana, Albania for eight years, specializing in the Vaganova method. Edlira was the winner of several national awards while attending school and following her graduation, was accepted at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Albania as a principal ballet dancer. Edlira has danced the lead in many classical and contemporary ballets, including the role of Giselle, Clara in the Nutcracker, Kitri in Don Quixote and others. She performed nationally and in other parts of Europe, primarily in Italy, and was the founder of the ballet studio Leva (barre) in Termoli, Italy where she taught ballet for several years. In the US, Edlira taught ballet and contemporary/modern dance for several ballet studios and organizations, including Fresh Pond Ballet, Montessori, Boston Movement Arts , and more recently at New England Movement Arts. Aside formal ballet classes, she specialized in private training as well as choreography for students in preparation for competitions, auditions, and performances. Edlira has a degree in Theater Arts and has performed and directed various plays and short films. She also has a master’s in mental health counseling, a profession that she practices during the day.

(there is no class on school vacation weeks in February and April. Reimbursement is offered for cancelations initiated by the instructor)

In keeping our community safe and avoid further spread of the virus students may be asked to wear masks. Social distancing must be respected and students with be asked to stay 6 feet away from one another during sessions. In lieu of these restrictions classroom capacity is a maximum of 10 students.
